Bench-built work
needs bench-built people.
Flamingo is a small studio by design. Sixty plus crew on the workshop floor; nine in the studio. We hire slowly, we hire rarely, and we hire for craft, patience and the long view. If you make rooms — or want to — read on.
— Management principle
Envision. Engage. Deliver.
Three words that describe how we work — with each other, with our clients, with the room.
Envision
We see the room before it exists. The light, the materials, who'll live in it, how it should age. Designers who envision think materials before aesthetic — and ten years out, not next quarter.
Engage
We sit with the brief. The client is a collaborator, not a customer; the workshop floor is the same room as the studio. Engage means listening before drawing — and drawing in conversation.
Deliver
Bench to delivery. We carry every piece, every project, end-to-end — sequenced trades, weekly site reports, single-point accountability. Delivery is not the last step; it's why the rest exists.
— Our values
Four lines
we hold to.
Material first.
Lead with the timber, the leather, the marble. Material informs the design, not the other way around.
Quiet competence.
We over-communicate on purpose. A quiet build site is a sign of a well-run one — not a sign of nothing happening.
One accountable line.
One PM, one schedule, one team holding the brief from sketch to handover. No relay races between vendors.
The long view.
Build for the morning coffee, not the photograph. Pieces age — well, if you let them. We work for the people who'll be sitting on them in ten years.
— How we recruit
Five steps,
five working days at most.
We move fast on applications. Most candidates hear back within a week of applying — and within ten working days of their second interview, they have an offer.
- 01
Application
Send us your CV and a paragraph about a room you've made (or one you'd love to). We read every application within five working days.
Open applications welcome — even when no posting matches your shape.
- 02
First interview
A 30–45 minute conversation with the hiring lead. We talk about the work, not the resume. You ask whatever you'd like — the workshop, the projects, the team, the routine.
By video for distant candidates; in-person for Bengaluru.
- 03
Second interview & assessment
In person at our Bengaluru studio. Includes a small, craft-relevant exercise — drawing, specifying, or talking us through a sample brief. 60–90 minutes.
Bring no slides. Bring two examples of work you're proud of.
- 04
Employment offer
A written offer within five working days of your second interview. Includes role, scope, comp band, joining date, and a copy of our team handbook.
Two days to consider; we encourage one round of negotiation.
- 05
Joining
Confirm your start date with us. Day one is at the workshop floor — a tour, a fitting (we issue studio aprons), and lunch with the team.
We don't believe in 'orientation week'. You're useful from week one.
— Open positions
6 roles, open today.
A small studio by design. When we open a role we mean it — and when we hire we mean it longer.

Apply for this role →Senior Upholsterer
Hand needle-craft, spring-and-belt, dual-fabric upholstery, hand-stitched leather seat backs. Patient with apprentices. Knows the difference between art-leather and top-grain by touch.
Apply for this role →Site Supervisor — Civil & Fit-out
Run the floor on active sites across South India. Sequenced trades, MEP coordination, weekly reports. About 60% travel during active builds; based in Bengaluru between projects.

a resume second.
We hire for craft and the long view. If you've spent your career making things that last, we'd like to talk.
