— Sustainability

A return gift
to nature.

Every Flamingo piece begins as a tree. The Sustainer Circle is how we mean to stay even with the woods that build the work.

— Our quietest collaborator

Every brief
begins in
a forest.

The French beech in a Westminster armchair, the Burmese teak across a fluted wall, the walnut on a sideboard — each began as a sapling, raised, harvested, and given to us. The woods are our oldest, quietest collaborator.

For two decades we've made furniture from timber. For most of those years, we've thought of trees as a material. The Sustainer Circle is how we mean to think of them as a partnership.

“We don't take from the woods. We borrow.”

— What we pledge

We replant
what we use.

  • A sapling for every cubic foot

Each project's timber budget is logged at design hand-off and matched to a planting commitment before fabrication begins.

  • Tracked by species, site, season

We don't plant generic 'trees'. Native species, region-matched, in plots run by trusted forest-department and NGO partners.

  • Reported every quarter, openly

The Circle receives a quarterly field log — what went in, where, and how the monsoon (or the dry season) has treated it.

— How it works

From a sketch
to a sapling.

Four quiet steps. Run for every project — turnkey or single-piece — and reported back to the Sustainer Circle.

01

Source

Every brief begins with a timber budget — species, cubic feet, project. Logged the moment a sketch is signed.

02

Match

Each cubic foot is matched, project by project, to a sapling commitment in the Sustainer Circle ledger.

03

Plant

Saplings are planted in partnership with India's state forest departments and a trusted set of reforestation NGOs.

04

Update

Every quarter we send the Circle a field log — what went into the ground, where, and how the season has treated it.

— Our partnership in numbers

Numbers we count slowly.

Plant with us.

The work is ours; the cost is shared. Make a one-time gift or stand a sapling beside us each year. Whatever you give, the field log comes back to you — quarterly, by email, with photos.

One Sapling

₹ 500

Stand a single sapling beside our next project. We'll send a thank-you and the species + site of your tree.

  • 1 tree planted
  • Species + GPS site report
  • Acknowledged in the next field log
Pledge One Sapling

Steward

₹ 25,000

Fifty trees across two seasons. For practices, brands, or families who want to sponsor a small woodland in their name.

  • 50 trees planted, multi-season
  • Site walk with a Flamingo lead each year
  • Field log + studio newsletter
  • Custom plaque at the planting site
Pledge Steward

All pledges go directly to plot acquisition, sapling sourcing and our partner organisations' field crews. Flamingo absorbs the programme's overhead.

— Our partners

Where the
trees go.

We don't run our own nurseries. We work with the people who do — state forest departments and a small set of trusted, accountable reforestation organisations.
